असम के सीएम हिमंत बिस्व सरमा ने हाल ही में कहा था कि 'राहुल गांधी पहले तो मुझसे डरता था, अब मेरे बच्चे से भी डरना शुरू कर दिया।' जब इस पर राहुल गांधी की प्रतिक्रिया मांगी गई तो उन्होंने कहा कि 'वह खुद डरे हुए हैं क्योंकि सीएम भ्रष्ट हैं।'

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने कहा, भारत जोड़ो न्याय यात्रा 15 राज्यों से होकर गुजरेगी। पिछल बार भारत जोड़ो पदयात्रा कन्याकुमारी से कश्मीर तक निकाली गई थी। उस वक्त कहीं कोई पथराव नहीं हुआ। डराने-धमकाने की कोशिशें भी नहीं हुईं। खरगे ने सवाल किया कि असम में ऐसा क्यों हो रहा है? कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि असम के सीएम पीएम मोदी के 'चेला' हैं। सीएम सरमा वही सुनते हैं जो शाह कहते हैं। वह देश के दलितों, अल्पसंख्यकों और पिछड़े वर्ग को डराते हैं। अगले चुनाव से पहले राजनीतिक लाभ पाने के मकसद से लोगों को डराने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है।

इससे पहले असम की कांग्रेस इकाई ने दावा किया कि असम कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष भूपेन बोरा पर भाजपा समर्थकों के एक समूह ने कथित तौर पर हमला किया। घटना रविवार को असम के सोनितपुर जिले के जमुगुरीहाट इलाके की बताई गई। हमले में कथित तौर पर भूपेन बोरा की नाक पर चोट आई है। उनको इलाज के लिए अस्पताल ले जाया गया है। उल्लेखनीय है कि असम के सोनितपुर जिले के एसपी सुशांत बिस्वा सरमा हैं। एसपी सुशांत असम के सीएम हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा के भाई हैं। ऐसे में कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं पर कथित हमले का मामला राजनीतिक रूप से बेहद संवेदनशील और बड़ा बनने की आशंका है।

इससे पहले कांग्रेस पार्टी ने भी अपने आधिकारिक ट्विटर हैंडल पर 'भाजपा प्रायोजित हमले' का दावा करते हुए वीडियो क्लिप शेयर की। पार्टी ने दावा किया कि उनकी गाड़ियों को निशाना बनाया गया। झंडे-पोस्टर फाड़कर भाजपा के झंडे लगाने का प्रयास किया गया। कांग्रेस का दावा है कि हमला असम के मुख्यमंत्री के इशारों पर हुआ है। 'भारत जोड़ो न्याय यात्रा' को मिल रही सफलता ने BJP की नींद उड़ा दी है। भाजपा डरी और घबराई हुई है। यही वजह है कि वे इस तरह की कायराना हरकत पर उतर आए हैं।
