बताया जा रहा है कि वो पिछले कुछ दिनों से बीमार थीं। पारिवारिक सूत्रों के अनुसार किशीरो अमोनकर ने मुंबई स्थित अपने आवास पर अंतिम सांस ली। वो 84 साल की थीं।
जयपुर घराने से ताल्लुक रखने वाली किशोरी अमोनकर ने ठुमरी से लेकर भजन, भक्ति गीत और फिल्मी गाने भी गाए। किशोरी अमोनकर ने अपने अलग स्टाइल के चलते संगीत की दुनिया में अपनी एक अलग पहचान बनाई। उन्हें
1987 में पद्म भूषण और 2002 में पद्म विभूषण से सम्मानित किया गया। वहीं 2010 में किशोरी अमोनकर को संगीत नाटक अकेडमी की फेलो बनाया गया।
