केंद्रीय कैबिनेट की बैठक में पॉक्सो (POCSO- protection of children against sexual offences) एक्ट में बदलाव के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी गई। केंद्र सरकार के इस फैसले पर अगल-अगल राजनीतिक दलों और संस्थानों की भिन्न-भिन्न प्रतिक्रियाएं सामने आई हैं।
मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (माकपा) नेता वृंदा करात ने केंद्र सरकार पर निशाना साधते हुए बलात्कारियों का समर्थन करनेवालों को संरक्षण देने का आरोप लगाया है। करात ने कहा, "सैद्धांतिक तौर पर माकपा मृत्युदंड के खिलाफ है। अपराध के अत्यंत दुर्लभ मामलों में मृत्युदंड का प्रवाधान पहले से ही मौजूद है। वास्तविक मुद्दा यह है कि सरकार के कुछ सदस्य बलात्कारियों का समर्थन कर रहे हैं। 'बलात्कारियों के रक्षकों' को दंड दिया जाना चाहिए।"
करात ने आगे कहा, "मुद्दे से ध्यान भटकाने के लिए सरकार यह मुद्दा लाने की कोशिश कर रही है। मैं इससे सहमत नहीं हूं क्योंकि इसकी बहुत कम विश्वसनीयता है। हम चाहते हैं कि सजा सुनिश्चित की जा सके। यह मुद्दा उन मसलों का जबाव नहीं दे पा रही है जिससे भारतीयों के दिमाग उत्तेजित हैं।"

शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने केंद्र सरकार को धन्यवाद दिया
चौहान ने कहा, "हमारी बेटियों की सुरक्षा के लिए यह बड़ा कदम उठाए गया है। मैं पीएम और केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल का धन्यवाद करता हूं। मध्य प्रदेश ने भी इस दिशा में एक कदम उठाया था। इससे अपराधियों में डर पैदा होगा और वे इस तरह के गंभीर अपराध करने से पहले सोचेंगे।"

NCW अध्यक्ष ने माना, असल चुनौती बाकी है
साथ ही उन्होंने कहा, "लेकिन मुख्य चुनौती कानून को लागू करने की है। मैं अभी भी सुझाव दूंगी कि फास्ट ट्रैक कोर्ट होने चाहिए ताकि जल्द से जल्द न्याय मिल सके।"

सलमान खुर्शीद ने कहा- मूल कारण खोजने की जरूरत
उन्होंने कहा, "यह एक संवेदनशील मुद्दा है और हाल में हुई घटनाएं शर्मनाक हैं। सरकार को अपने फैसले पर फिर से विचार करना चाहिए। हमें ऐसे अपराधों के मूल कारण को खोजने की जरूरत है क्योंकि न्यायपालिका सिर्फ एक सीमा तक ही मदद कर सकती है।"
