नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम को लेकर देश के अलग-अलग जगहों पर भारी विरोध प्रदर्शन हो रहा है। दिल्ली के जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया यूनिवर्सिटी में भी छात्र इस अधिनियम के खिलाफ हैं। उत्तर प्रदेश के अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी में हुई हिंसा में तीन छात्र घायल हुए हैं। पुलिस ने छात्रों पर लाठीचार्ज भी किया। बॉलीवुड की कई हस्तियों ने जहां इन छात्रों का समर्थन किया तो वहीं कुछ विरोध कर रहे हैं।
निर्देशक विवेक अग्निहोत्री ने ट्वीट कर लिखा- 'जो लोग इस विधेयक का विरोध कर रहे हैं क्या उनमें से किसी को पता है कि आखिर ये है क्या? आपको क्या लगता है कि विरोध करने वाले और खुद को बुद्धजीवी कहने वालों ने इस बिल को विस्तार से पढ़ा होगा?'

तापसी पन्नू ने छात्राओं का एक वीडियो शेयर करते हुए लिखा- 'आश्चर्यजनक है कि क्या यह शुरुआत है या अंत। जो भी हो लेकिन नए नियम लिखे जा रहे हैं। अगर कोई इनमें फिट नहीं है तो नतीजा आपके सामने है। यह वीडियो देख दिल टूट जाता है।'
