रणबीर कपूर इंस्टाग्राम के अलावा लगभग सभी सोशल मीडिया साइटों से दूरी बना रखी है, खासतौर पर ट्विटर से, जहां उनके पापा अतिसक्रिय हैं। यूं तो रणबीर कई मौकों पर कह चुके हैं कि उनके पास इतना वक्त नहीं होता कि वह सोशल मीडिया पर टाइम बिता सकें। लेकिन उनकी बातें कोरी लगती हैं, क्योंकि उनके सारे सहअभिनेता ट्विटर व अन्य सोशल मीडिया साइटों पर खूब सक्रिय हैं।
हालांकि यह रणबीर का निजी फैसला है कि वह सोशल साइटों पर आएं न आएं। लेकिन इंस्टाग्राम पर लगातार सक्रिय हैं। इससे एक बात तो जाहिर है कि कुछ ऐसी बात है जो उन्हें ट्विटर-फेसबुक पर आने से रोक रहा है। इसी बीच बॉलीवुड गलियारों में चर्चा है कि रणबीर तमाशा के प्रमोशन को लेकर ट्विटर पर आने की सोच चुके थे। लेकिन बाद में उन्होंने खुद को रोक लिया।
गौरतलब है कि रणबीर के पापा ट्विटर पर अतिसक्रिय हैं। वह कई मौकों पर अपने ट्वीट को लेकर विवादों में रहे हैं। यहां तक कि वह प्रतिक्रियाओं के दबाव में आकर ट्विटर को बाय-बाय भी कर चुके हैं, क्योंकि एक दौर में वह ट्विटर पर सबसे कमाल राशिद खान केआरके के बाद ज्यादा विवादित सेलिब्रटी बनते जा रहे थे। लेकिन बाद में लोगों को समझाने बुझाने पर उन्होंने ट्विटर पर वापसी कर ली। अब खबर है कि रणबीर अपने पापा के ट्वीट पर होने वाली प्रतिक्रियाओं से डरकर ही ट्विटर से दूरी बना रखी है।
