Kerala students wins 1st two places in arithmetic competition

Two students from here had won the first two places in the Eighth Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic competition held at Malaysia last week.
Sneha, a third standard student, bagged the top honour while Samjo Francis Joseph settled for the runner-up slot, Padmini Varma, of Kozhikode Mind Power Speed Mathematics Abacus Institute, said.
She said the two came out victorious from among nearly 5000 competitors from 48 countries.
The two was given nearly 200 arithmetic sums and both of them had answered nearly 170 in eight minutes, she said.
